The BCM43224 is a single-chip baseband/MAC/radio all-in-one die with integrated dual-band power amplifiers for 2x2 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz 802.11n applications. The low-cost CMOS implementation for MAC, Baseband, and Radio allows integration with Broadcom's Cable/DSL/Set-top/VoIP chipsets. The BCM43224 has the industry's first integrated dual-band 802.11n power amplifiers, eliminating the need for external power amplifiers, significantly reducing the rest-of-BOM (RBOM) and footprint.

This solution is fully compatible with IEEE 802.11n Draft 2.0 and 802.11a/b/g legacy devices. It has two transmitters and two receivers with optional 802.11n Draft 2.0 modes to allow data rates supporting up to 300 Mbps
